31 Beach Road, CBD
The Urban Design Company worked alongside Mt Hobson Group and Paul Brown Architects to design a 15 storey boutique hotel at 31 Beach Road in the heart of Auckland’s regenerating Britomart Precinct. The final product is a visually interesting building that maximised its small site and engaged the public within the existing streetscape.
60 Cook Street, CBD
60 Cook Street is a 10 level, mixed-use development in Auckland’s Victoria Quarter that consists of office, retail and 186 residential units. The Urban Design Company contributed urban design input for the AU Cook Investment group with Leuschke Group and produced a sleek, modern building that will significantly contribute to the regeneration of the Cook Street streetscape.
572 Manukau Road, Epsom
The Urban Design Company provided urban design input on behalf of Mt Hobson Group for the development of an 83-room hotel in Epsom. The final design, developed with architect Patrick Thoroughgood, incorporated unique horizontal rhythms and canopy continuity as a reference point to the original structure on site. The final product was an attractive, light-filled hotel that boldly blended modern and historical architecture.
147 Victoria Street West, CBD (Ramada)
The Urban Design Company and Mt Hobson Group were involved in the mixed use office, retail, hotel and apartment Ramada complex in the CBD from the very first concept sketch, taking on board Council feedback throughout the process. The final design seamlessly incorporates the existing heritage building on site into its attractive, modern design.
51-53 Albert Street, CBD
Ninety Four Feet Property engaged the Urban Design Company for specialist advice for the construction of a mixed use hotel and apartment building in the CBD. With feedback from the Auckland Urban Design Panel, the existing historical façade was combined with a patterned, visually captivating exterior that will revitalise the precinct by providing a through-link from Albert Street to St Patrick’s Square.
3 Cortina Place, Pakuranga
UDC undertook a visual impact assessment for a now approved billboard at 3 Cortina Place, Pakuranga. The report helped to demonstrate that a new billboard would be within keeping of the existing commercial neighbourhood of Pakuranga, and by doing so enabled the applicant to greatly expand the commercial potential of the site.
